About Worship

UniLu has in-person worship services (masks are optional) and continues to stream services on Zoom or via YouTube Live.

Worship is central to our life in God and our life together. These things we do and say turn us and center us to live a different kind of life: a life that is focused on serving God and serving neighbor.

From the ELCA: "Connected with and central to everything we do, worship unites us in celebration, engages us in thoughtful dialogue and helps us grow in faith. It grounds us in our Christian and Lutheran roots, while demonstrating practical relevance for today’s world."

We celebrate the Eucharist (Holy Communion) every Sunday. Lutherans believe that Jesus Christ's true presence is "in, with, and under" the earthly elements of bread and wine. We welcome all to the Lord’s Table.

For those of you who might feel lost during worship or do not understand why we do what we do: do not hesitate to ask someone sitting near you or ask the pastor questions after worship.

UPCOMING SERVICES AND LECTIONARY

ADVENT

24 DECEMBER 2024 (NATIVITY OF OUR LORD—CHRISTMAS EVE)

In winter’s deepest night, we welcome the light of the Christ child. Isaiah declares that the light of the long-promised king will illumine the world and bring endless peace and justice. Paul reminds us that the grace of God through Jesus Christ brings salvation to all people. The angels declare that Jesus’ birth is good and joyful news for everyone, including lowly shepherds. Filled with the light that shines in our lives, we go forth to share the light of Christ with the whole world.
